Adele's Blessing

Adele was blessed at church this Sunday. We got her a sweet little white dress for the occasion, and we got her sister beautiful white dresses made from the same material so the sisters could match. Addey slept peacefully all through church and the blessing but when I attempted to get a few pictures of her in her dress she had a fit. She was OK if I let her have her pacifier but her pacifier is a big blue monstrosity and it would not do for pictures. Then when I attempted to change her out of the dress, she through such a kicking tantrum she tore the dress. I only got one good picture of her the whole day. It's the one above. The rest were attempts that, as you will see, did not go well.
After church we had some folks back to our place for lunch that my amazing mother threw together for every one. Ryan's family came and left before any of my friends and family got there. Here are a few shots I got:

(Above) Elsa waiting patiently for her turn to hold Adele

(Below) A couple of pictures of my oldest little angel

The beginning of Addey's melt down

Oh yeah, she's getting mad now...

Although she looks happy here, this was just as I was about to change her and this was one second after pacifier removal. Two seconds after removal and there was screaming!

Also just a calm second before a storm, but at least you can sorta see the dress

I got a lovely picture of me holding Elsa on her blessing day. It's one of my favorites in her whole baby book. This is the best I could do with Adele.

The little girl holding Adele here is my friend Sarah's daughter Adele. Sarah and I were friends before Elsa was born and when Sarah had Adele I told her some day I would have another girl and steal the name. I did.
Big Adele and Little Adele

Besides being blessed today, we got a swing to borrow from her Aunt Tiffany, which was the highlight of the day as far as Addey was concerned. This is how she feels about the swing.

July 4th

We spent the 4th of July in Delta watching what can only be described as a super awesome parade. Seriously, we had a lot of fun. It seems in Delta, paraders throw candy at spectators. For some reason in Delta there are only two kinds of candy though: saltwater taffy and Tootsie Rolls. But to Elsa, candy is candy and when it's hurled toward you and you have to compete to get it, well it may as well be gold!

She wore her cute red, white, and blue outfit Suekey got her. It was a popular outfit, I saw it on two other children, but it looked best on her. Look at those dancer legs!

The pics are not so good, we didn't have our camera so these are cell phone pictures.

The picture above is Ryan's brother-in-law Dan with Elsa and his twins. I believe they were in a pre-game huddle. Notice Dan telling them how to get in the best candy grabbing position.
And our miss Addey was with us too. She slept for the bulk of it, but she liked the marching band. This is her watching them march.

I didn't get any pictures of it, but she was transfixed by the fireworks that night too. She tried desperately to keep her eyes open to watch but eventually drooped off.
